Hi, I’m Adrienne 👋🏽 I’m a millennial girl living in a post-COVID world and trying to stay whole while humans show us the best and worst of ourselves. I’ve been writing poetry since I was 8 years old and writing has always been the place I can be the most honest. The most me. I used to hoard my words in journals and sketchbooks, on post-its and scraps of paper. Then, I was reminded that it does me and others no good to keep them to myself.

November Note: ENOUGH
Today was for grief, for despair lining my eyes with silver and the lack of surprise that’s trying to harden my heart.
Today was for tension headaches eased by walking the woods and listening to the notes of my dad’s voice as he said, “I’m not gonna stop livin.”
Today was for allowing the tiredness to seep through my bones and bend my weary head towards the pillow.
And maybe I’ll need more than today.
But at some point, it will be enough. And I will begin again to hope, and work, and believe it can be different. It will be different.

October Offering: PIECES 🍂
Travel, work, family, and friends fill my cup to the brim, but sometimes it’s more than my body can hold and the pace and depth of day to day life catches up with me. I’m still waiting for the day when it’s not sickness that forces me to rest, but a proactive sense of care.
Alas, spending time resting and soaking up the autumn sun in the backyard which is also making space for the words to return.
Here’s to spending time with you, outside of the roles you play.
